Privacy Policy

ExamAdda is a free platform offering practice material, online CBT mock tests and preparation resources for government recruitment exams and campus placement / aptitude tests. It needs no account, signup or login.
This policy explains what limited personal data we process when you use the site, why, how long we keep it, and the rights you have. It is prepared in line with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 ("DPDP Act"), the Digital Personal Data Protection Rules, 2025, and the Information Technology Act, 2000 and rules made under it.
By using examadda.in you acknowledge the practices described here.
1. Information we do not collect
- No account data: we never ask for your name, phone number, email address, postal address or password to use tests or study material.
- No payment data: everything on ExamAdda is free. We do not collect card numbers, UPI IDs or bank details.
- No identity-linked test records: we store your test responses to show results and analysis, but only under a random session code, never with your name, email or phone number (see Section 2).
2. Personal data we process and why
Although you never create an account, some technical details are processed automatically. Under Indian law, details such as an IP address can count as personal data, so we list them here.
| Data | How it is collected | Purpose |
|---|---|---|
| IP address | Automatically, by our web server | Security, preventing abuse, DDoS and automated scraping, keeping the site running |
| Browser type and version, device and operating system | Automatically, by our web server and Google Analytics | Making the site and tests work correctly on your device, fixing bugs |
| Pages visited, referring URL, date and time of access | Server logs and Google Analytics | Understanding traffic patterns (for example peak exam-season hours) and improving content |
| Advertising and analytics cookie identifiers | Set by Google AdSense and Google Analytics | Showing ads that keep ExamAdda free, measuring usage (see Section 4) |
| Your email address and message | Only if you email us | Replying to your query or correcting an error you report |
We do not sell, rent or trade any of this data, and we do not add your email to marketing lists.
Test responses. When you submit a test, your selected answers, time spent
per question and score are sent to our server and stored in our database. We use them to
show your result and test analysis, and in aggregate to improve questions (for example,
finding questions most aspirants get wrong). Each attempt is saved with a random code
generated for your browser session. This code is not shown to you and is not linked to your
name, email or phone number, so we cannot tell who took a test. While a test is in progress,
the timer and question palette are kept in your browser's localStorage and
sessionStorage.
4. Google AdSense and Google Analytics
Advertising. ExamAdda uses Google AdSense to show ads that keep the platform free. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website or other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to ExamAdda and/or other sites on the internet. These may be personalised ads, based on your interests as inferred by Google from your browsing, or non-personalised ads, based only on general context such as the page you are viewing. Google also uses cookies for frequency capping, aggregated reporting and fraud prevention.
- How Google uses data when you use our partners' sites or apps
- Opt out of personalised advertising: Google Ads Settings or www.aboutads.info
- Visitors from the European Economic Area, the UK and Switzerland are shown a consent message before any advertising cookies are set.
Analytics. We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how visitors use the site, for example which exams and topics are popular and when traffic peaks. Google Analytics collects device, browser, approximate location (city level) and usage information through cookies. It does not log or store full IP addresses, and we do not use it to identify individual visitors.
- Opt out of Google Analytics on all sites: Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on
Google processes this data under its own Privacy Policy.
6. How long we keep data
| Data | Retention |
|---|---|
| Server logs (IP, browser, device, access times) | 12 months, then deleted |
| Google Analytics data | 14 months, as set in our Analytics account |
| Support and grievance emails | Until your query is resolved, plus 12 months, unless you ask us to delete them sooner |
| Test responses and scores (our database) | 12 months from the attempt, then deleted or kept only as anonymous aggregate statistics |
We may keep data longer only where the law requires it.
7. Children
ExamAdda is used by students and aspirants of all ages, including some under 18. Because we cannot know a visitor's age, we treat all visitors with the same protections:
- We do not ask for or knowingly collect personal details such as names, phone numbers or email addresses through the site.
- ExamAdda itself does not track visitors or build behavioural profiles. Our content is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly target ads at anyone under 18. Google does not show personalised ads to users it knows to be under 18. Any visitor can turn off ad personalisation through the links in Section 4.
- If you are under 18, please ask a parent or guardian before emailing us. If a parent or guardian believes a child has sent us personal data, they can write to the Grievance Officer and we will delete it.
8. Security
All traffic between your browser and examadda.in is encrypted with HTTPS (SSL/TLS). Access to server logs and stored test responses is limited to the people who run the site. In-progress test data kept in your browser is protected by keeping your own device and browser secure.
If a personal data breach affects you, we will inform you and the Data Protection Board of India as required by the DPDP Act and Rules.
9. Your rights
Under the DPDP Act, 2023 you can:
- Access: ask what personal data we hold about you (in practice, any emails you have sent us).
- Correction and erasure: ask us to correct or delete that data.
- Grievance redressal: raise a complaint with our Grievance Officer (Section 11).
- Nomination: nominate another person to exercise these rights on your behalf in case of death or incapacity.
To use any of these rights, email the Grievance Officer from the address you used to contact us, so we can verify the request. Because we hold no accounts, we cannot link server logs, analytics data or test responses to you by name. For the same reason, we cannot find or delete one person's test attempt on request; all stored responses are deleted on the schedule in Section 6. Clearing site data for examadda.in removes the copy kept in your browser.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when our services or the law change. The "Last updated" date at the top shows the latest version. For significant changes, such as a new type of data collected, we will also place a notice on the home page.
